Privacy Policy

This policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use calcocard.com, our membership, digital card, partner portal, emails, and texts.
Information we collect
- Account: name, email, phone number, home city, password (hashed), membership status (Free or Member), referral codes.
- Usage: pages and deals viewed, saved, or redeemed; device/browser type; approximate location if you use Near Me / map (from your device or IP); verification events when a business confirms you.
- Business accounts: business name, address, hours, contact, deal copy, logos, plan tier, portal activity, and limited redemption analytics.
- Payments: processed by Stripe (or a successor). We do not store full card numbers. We receive limited billing metadata (last4, expiration, charge success/fail, subscription status).
- Communications: emails, support tickets, call notes, SMS opt-in/opt-out logs.
- Cookies and similar tech: session cookies needed to keep you logged in; optional analytics if enabled. See “Cookies” below.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The service is for adults 18+.
How we use information
- Run membership, deals, digital card / QR verification, and the partner portal.
- Bill subscriptions and prevent fraud.
- Send service messages (receipts, password reset, security, redemption confirmations).
- Send marketing email or SMS only if you opted in.
- Operate giveaways (contact winners, confirm eligibility).
- Improve the product (which deals work, which towns are underserved).
- Show partners aggregated or visit-level verification needed to honor a deal, not your full browsing history.
Texts (SMS)
If you check the SMS box at signup or otherwise give prior express written consent, we may send recurring automated texts about deals, membership, and local offers.
- Message frequency varies (typically a few per week, more around new deals).
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to cancel texts; HELP for help.
- You may also turn texts off in Account → Notifications or email privacy@calcocard.com.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase.
- We keep SMS consent and opt-out records.
- We do not sell mobile opt-in data to third parties for their own marketing.
Transactional texts that are reasonably necessary to run your account or a redemption may still be sent after a marketing opt-out.
Sharing
We share information with:
- Service providers under contract: hosting, email, SMS/10DLC vendor, payment processor, analytics, customer support tools.
- Partner businesses: confirmation that a Free or Member user is eligible to redeem a specific offer at that moment (name or member ID as needed to prevent fraud).
- Legal / safety: if required by law, to protect rights, or in a sale of the business (the buyer must honor this policy).
We do not sell your personal information as that term is commonly used, and we do not share mobile opt-in data with third parties for their independent marketing.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember Free weekly redemptions. If we use analytics or advertising pixels, we will identify them here and, where required, offer a simple opt-out. You can block non-essential cookies in your browser; the site may work less well.
Retention
We keep account and billing records for as long as the account is open and for a reasonable period after (generally up to 7 years for tax, fraud, and accounting). SMS consent logs are kept at least 4 years. You may request deletion; we may retain what the law requires.
Your choices
- Update profile and notification settings in Account.
- Cancel membership anytime.
- Request access, correction, or deletion: privacy@calcocard.com or (269) 446-1123.
- Michigan residents and others may have additional rights under applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No website is perfectly secure.
Changes
We will update the Effective date when this policy changes. Material changes will be posted on this page and, when appropriate, emailed.
